The School Council plays a key role in the governance of the school. Enabled by the School Education Act 1999 and the School Education Regulations 2000, the Council makes decisions about the overall direction of the school and focuses primarily on:
- planning, policy development and review
- school performance evaluation
- ratification of the school budget, charges and contributions
- determining the dress code for students and
- promoting the school in the wider community.
The priority of the Council for 2009 continues to be securing funding for the ongoing redevelopment of the school buildings. Rossmoyne Senior High School has a proud history of consistently high achievement across all domains. To maintain and build on these results, the Council has a vital role in working with Government to redevelop the school’s infrastructure.
