YEAR 7 LIGHTNING CARNIVAL

Congratulations to all our Year 7 students who competed in the Lightning Carnival! They represented Rossmoyne SHS with pride and demonstrated our iCARE values throughout the day.
⚽️The Year 7 girls’ Soccer team had an excellent day of competition. With some tough competition against Melville A, Applecross and John Curtin, the girls played brilliantly as a team. A highlight was our draw with Safety Bay, a soccer specialist school. The goals continued to roll in as we won against our neighbours Willetton and Melville B. Unfortunately, the boys didn’t get the results they were after, but they had a great time and played in good spirits.
🏀It was a superb day for our basketball teams, with the boys’ and the girls’ teams having a lot of success and playing fairly against all teams. The student coaches were also outstanding, leading the boys’ team to 5 out of 6 wins and the girls’ team to a massively successful day in which they won all of their games and came home with the flag as the best team.
🏐All three netball teams put on an outstanding performance and displayed exceptional sportsmanship throughout the day. Our B2 team showed their skill and determination, ultimately coming in 2nd place. Our B1 and A1 teams also demonstrated their talent and teamwork, securing 4th place in their respective categories. The players played with great spirit and showed respect for their opponents, making us proud of their conduct both on and off the court.
🏉The Boys AFL team had a fantastic day at the Lightning Carnival, showcasing great teamwork and sportsmanship. They faced tough competition but demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the games but remained undefeated and brought home the flag.
👏🎉We couldn’t have done it without our student helpers, who coached and umpired throughout the day. Congratulations to everyone who participated!
