And the winner is………ROSSMOYNE DANCE STUDENTS

WITH THEIR PIECE ENTITLED ‘CHECK MATES’!

Congratulations to Rossmoyne Senior High School’s YOH Fest dance students, who have been crowned the winners of the 2015 YOH Fest. The Youth on Health Festival (YOH Fest) provides a forum for high schools to use the Arts disciplines of visual art, drama and dance to create work based on a health issue relevant to their community. This year’s theme, “Equity”, drew more than 300 entries state-wide.

Rossmoyne’ s entry was choreographed by the Year 11 Certificate II Dance class. Entitled Check Mates and based on the board game chess, the piece highlighted issues of gender equality, racial equality and hierarchy and was performed by 53 dance students from Year 7 to Year 11.

The school is so proud of these students and their Dance teachers for all the hard work and dedication that went into creating this outstanding, prize-winning performance.
