How do I go about enrolling my child at Rossmoyne?

Year 7 to Year 12 children have a guaranteed place at a public high school if they live in its ‘local-intake area’. The Department of Education provides a step-by-step guide on how to enrol at a public school.

To find public schools in your local area visit Schools Online. Search by your address and find out about nearby schools and whether you are in their local-intake area.

Local students

Rossmoyne is a local-intake school

Rossmoyne Senior High School is a local-intake school. This means all children living within the school’s local-intake area are guaranteed a place at the school.

Local students need to apply to enrol

Even students living within the local-intake area need to apply to enrol at Rossmoyne Senior High School.

Our enrolment eligibility and procedure can be found here.

Local student enrolment application form

Enrolment applications are completed as a hard copy form that must be handed in at our Front Reception on Keith Road, Rossmoyne.

Enrolment forms are made available to local Year 6 families through the Rossmoyne’s eight contributory public primary schools in Term 2 each year.

Enrolment forms are also available for collection at Rossmoyne Senior High School’s Front Reception.

Enrolments for high school are encouraged before June

Families are encouraged to apply to enrol in high school before June in the year prior to entry. Late applications are accepted.

Students living outside of the local-intake area

Specialist or Gifted and Talented entry

Students living outside of the local-intake area can complete their high schooling at Rossmoyne if they apply and are successfully admitted into one of our Specialist Programs, or the Gifted and Talented Languages Program.

Not eligible

Due to the already large local population, Rossmoyne Senior High School is not able to accept the enrolment of any student living outside of the local-intake area unless they are successfully admitted into a Specialist Program, or the Gifted and Talented Languages Program.
