An Introduction to RSHS

The Rossmoyne SHS Student Experience

Students at Rossmoyne Senior High School enjoy a large range of study options and extracurricular activities. All of our students live in the local intake area, or are enrolled as part of a specialist or gifted and talented program. Learn more about entry to our school.

Middle School
In Year 7, Year 8 and Year 9, students study compulsory courses in English, Humanities and Social Sciences, Health and Physical Education, Languages, Mathematics, Science, The Arts and Technologies. Students combine their compulsory courses with their choice of electives including Art, Dance, Drama, Media, Music, Photography, Digital Technologies, Home Economics and Design & Technologies. Senior School
Year 10 students are enrolled in courses across eight learning areas from the Western Australian Curriculum Framework.
Students in Years 11 and 12 enrol in courses that contribute to their Western Australian Certificate of Education.  A range of different pathways are offered in the school. Read the Year 11 Course Handbook for more information on Senior School Pathways.

Transition and Orientation for New Students

Incoming Year 7 students will be invited to attend an Orientation Day at the school in December of the year prior to their commencement. Incoming students from other years will be invited to attend an orientation afternoon in the week prior to school commencing.
