Thursday 12th saw a display of talent and creativity as the Year 7 and Year 8 extension Maths classes hosted their inaugural Maths Enrichment Expo for mathematically minded primary school students. Rossmoyne students planned and ran the maths enrichment program, devising themes, writing the problem solving activities, and designing the puzzles and costumes. All the feedback points to the event being a great success.
2015 has seen Vocational Education and Training (VET) students achieve tremendous success across Years 11 and 12. They have performed exceptionally well both academically and on work placement. Congratulations to Mitchell Homewood who has won the Gold Medal for WA in the prestigious World Skills competition. Mitchell has outperformed his VET peers in the automotive industry and he will be presented with his medallion at a prestigious ceremony later this year. A very bright future lies ahead for Mitchell. The Department of Education’s “Excellence in Public Education” report on Rossmoyne Senior High School has been released. The report describes the findings of a study on exemplary practices at Rossmoyne. The study was conducted over five days by a panel of experts comprising the Department’s Expert Review Group Director and three Independent Public School Principals. Its purpose was to identify practices that are contributing to sustained excellence at Rossmoyne. For the full report please click here.

Congratulations to Rossmoyne Senior High School’s YOH Fest dance students, who have been crowned the winners of the 2015 YOH Fest. The Youth on Health Festival (YOH Fest) provides a forum for high schools to use the Arts disciplines of visual art, drama and dance to create work based on a health issue relevant to their community.
