Thank you for 60 Years of Education
With the end of the term we say goodbye to an inspirational leader Mr Bill Hann. Mr Hann’s teaching career began 60 years ago at Boulder High School where he taught General Science, English and Physical Education. During his impressive career as an educator, Mr Hann also held roles such as Superintendent of English and Executive Director of the Association of Independent Schools. In 2006, Rossmoyne Senior High School had the pleasure of welcoming Mr Hann to the English department. Since his appointment, Mr Hann has inspired both staff and students by his innovative use of modern technology, his charismatic personality and his ability to lead by example. Mr Klifunis, Associate Principal, said “Bill’s combination of educational wisdom and his embracing of contemporary learning approaches is a delight to behold. His enduring appetite for learning is evident in the way he kept up to date with curriculum changes and how he easily adopted online technologies into his teaching program. He cares about his students and has nurtured them to achieve wonderful results. His wisdom, wit and positivity will be missed in the classroom.” As Mr Hann’s teaching career comes to a close, he was visited today by the Hon Peter Collier MLC, Minister for Education, who presented him with a cake, gift and wished him well for his retirement. Rossmoyne Senior High School would like to sincerely thank Mr Hann for his wonderful contributions to the school and would like to wish him and his wife all the best as they begin a new chapter together.
