The South Coastal Year 8 Lightning Carnival

The South Coastal Year 8 Lightning Carnival

The South Coastal Year 8 Lightning Carnival in Week 4 saw Rossmoyne teams compete in Basketball, Soccer, Netball and AFL against 11 other schools from the region.

Our Rossmoyne AFL team came away third, conceding overall victory to Leeming who claimed first place, and Willetton who took second place.

Over at the netball courts, three teams competed across Divisions A, B and C. The games were played with enthusiasm and good sportsmanship by all, and our teams came away with third places in Div B and Div C, and a last place in Div A.

On the soccer fields, both girls and boys teams competed in divisions A and B. The Div A girls team finished up in second overall, equating to a first overall in the non-specialist school category. Div B girls also displayed skill and mateship, coming away with a third place. Our boys teams played hard and fair in their series of good spirited games. Boys in Div A finished up in fourth place, and Div B took out second after a strong start to their day, winning their first three games.

A successful day at the basketball saw Rossmoyne Division A teams come away with a second in the boys, and a third in the girls. All students represented the school extremely well.

Congratulations to all participating students, and a very big thank you to the student coaches who came along to guide and support the Year 8 competitors.
