WA Volleyball Schools Cup 2020

WA Volleyball Schools Cup 2020

Across two weekends during Term 3 the 2020 WA Volleyball Schools Cup was held at various venues across Perth. Rossmoyne has always had a strong presence at this event and 2020 was no different with the school taking out the President’s Cup for an incredible 29th year in a row to extend our perfect streak that dates back to 1992 when the trophy was first awarded.

A summary of our involvement this year:

  • 266 students competing
  • 30 teams entered
  • 24 teams made it through to the Semi-Final stage or better
  • 14 teams made the Grand Final
  • 10 gold medals
  • 4 silver medals
  • 11 MVP winners
  • 1 President’s Cup (this has still never been won by another school in it’s 29 year history)
  • 20 current/former students volunteer coaching
  • 25 current/former students volunteer refereeing
  • 1 former student running the event for Volleyball WA
  • 1 former student running a rival school’s Volleyball Program (Merredin)

This year, competing against schools from all across WA, six of our eight teams qualified for semi-finals, with three winning gold. Our Open Girls Honours Division Team also secured a silver medal. A huge thank you goes out to the staff and volunteer coaches who supported the students throughout the day and the parents who came to support.
