HIEROGLYPHIC BISCUITS

Our Ancient History class undertook a hands-on extension activity by creating Hieroglyphic biscuits, delivered as a cross-curricular collaboration between Humanities and Social Sciences and Home Economics with the support of Mr Coules and Ms Beemster.
Students researched key hieroglyphic symbols before applying their knowledge from their Ancient History class through the design and decoration of biscuits, effectively combining historical understanding with practical skills. The task promoted high levels of engagement while also showcasing student capabilities in critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
This activity highlighted the value of integrated learning experiences that connect academic study with meaningful, applied outcomes. The results were tasty.
