GAPS IN THE FOOD MARKET

This term in Food Science and Technology – ATAR, students gathered data to identify a gap in the food market. Their interpretation of statistical information and data analysis will help them develop innovative new food products. Keep an eye out for the showcase of these exciting creations later this year!
Year 9 Food Technology students also focused on numeracy. Through estimating and calculating, they discovered that five dollars can buy 96 shop-bought Tiny Teddy biscuits or a whopping 600 homemade ones — and the homemade tasted better too!
Not to be left out, the Year 11 Food Science and Technology students were busy working out the fractions and percentages of fruit and vegetables we should be consuming to maintain good health.
