LEARNING ABOUT RESOURCES
Approximately 80 students, primarily from Year 10, along with some Year 9 and Year 11 students, to the Get Into Resources expo hosted by North Metro TAFE.
The day featured presentations from professionals in the resources industry, a display area where students could engage with industry representatives and collect information and fun goodies.
There was also a series of workshops that enabled students to explore different aspects of the resources industry. These workshops included activities such as identifying rocks and minerals, managing mining projects, operating drones, learning about mine site rehabilitation, and visiting mine sites using VR headsets.
Students left the expo feeling inspired and enthusiastic. They also participated in a scavenger hunt, with entries submitted for a chance to win prizes. One of our students, Edelyne R, won a consultation with THE Resources HUB as one of the prizes!
