TRY A TRADE
Some of our Year 10 students just wrapped up an amazing three-day experience that gave them an insider look at the building and construction industry! They had the opportunity to learn from professionals like draftspeople, project managers, and owner-builders.
Day 1 kicked off with a campus tour and hands-on activities, where students discovered how to read floor plans and elevations while understanding essential safety requirements. They even practised measuring a building and delved into discussions on sustainable design and bushfire zone requirements!
On Day 2, it was all about creativity as students designed their own buildings using the latest ArchiCAD software.
And on Day 3, students learned the ins and outs of writing a quote for their designs. Throughout the experience, they showcased their teamwork, numeracy, digital literacy, work ethic, and creative thinking. Well done to everyone involved!
