LESSONS FROM TAIWAN
Our Year 9 Chinese Background Language students participated in an online virtual lesson with Year 12 students from Taiwan following two months of preparation and planning.
During the session, students from both schools shared the scenery, culture, and interesting features of their local communities in their target language. This authentic communication opportunity helped students build confidence in their speaking and listening skills while learning more about each other’s daily lives and environments.
The interactive activities greatly increased students’ interest, engagement, and active participation throughout the lesson. It was a valuable cultural exchange experience that encouraged meaningful communication and strengthened students’ motivation to learn languages.
