FRENCH AI FAMILIES
Our Year 7 French students have been exploring the exciting possibilities of Artificial Intelligence as part of their preparation for an upcoming assessment.
Students are required to present a family photo in French and were given the choice of using a real family photo, drawing their own family, or using AI to create an imaginary family. The AI option proved very popular, with students having lots of fun refining prompts and creating some wonderfully imaginative families — including a few made entirely of eggs and broccoli!
Importantly, students also explored the ethical and responsible use of AI. They discussed why AI can be a valuable tool for generating creative stimulus and ideas, while recognising that language generation should not replace their own learning, knowledge and language skills.
This engaging activity provided students with opportunities to develop their digital literacy, critical thinking, creative thinking, problem-solving and metacognitive skills, while bringing their French learning to life in a fun and meaningful way.
