CHEMICAL REACTION

Year 7 students have had a busy Term 2 full of experiments and learning about the properties of pure substances and mixtures and how we separate mixtures based on these properties. Students worked in small lab groups to filter dirty water, separate mixtures like water and chalk and different tomato sauces using centrifugation, separate ink using chromatography and to understand soluble mixtures can be separated with different boiling points through the process of distillation.
