FIELD OBSERVATIONS

Year 12 ATAR Geography students have been currently learning about processes and impacts of land cover change. The field trip to the Swan-Canning River catchment areas allowed them to apply their knowledge regarding the topics and look at two strategies to address the impacts – living streams and artificial oxygenation. They performed data collection and analysis as well as practical field observation. It provided them with the opportunity for authentic, real-world practical learning by engaging with their local environment to understand the importance of sustainable land use and land management practices.
