FLAVOUR CHALLENGE

Year 9 Success in the McCormack Flavour Challenge 2025!
We’re incredibly proud of six of Ms Beemster’s Year 9 Food Technology students who received a Highly Commended award in last year’s competition.
The challenge was to create an innovative rice-based bowl that heroed flavour, texture and visual appeal. Our students impressed judges by reimagining the traditional rice bowl — featuring a crispy arancini ball as the hero, served with fresh, vibrant slaw.
Throughout the process, students demonstrated the RSHS Capabilities, critical and creative thinking — planning, testing and refining their ideas to meet the brief. We are extremely proud of the professionalism, teamwork and innovation they displayed.
