NATIONAL CHAMPIONS…AGAIN
For the past two years, Rossmoyne has been the National Champions in the Standard Soccer Division of Robocup Junior Australia, where robots were constructed from Lego. This year, to foster further growth and development, our soccer teams moved up to the next division.
In order to be competitive at the national and international level, robots had to be custom made from non-Lego parts, requiring deep knowledge and understanding of 3D modelling software, electronics, and programming.
Despite other formidable teams at Nationals, including teams from Korea, one of our teams, Heavyweight, were successful to win 2nd place, behind team Korea. So one could argue, despite a 2nd place, we are still National champions.
Well done to members of both teams, who have worked hard to achieve success.
